300 acres of pasture in a 900 sq ft building

February 4, 2015 by FodderTech

You farmers and ranchers with grass-fed operations know the value of feeding fresh, green grass to your livestock.  How many of you would jump at the chance to add 300 acres of good quality pasture to your existing operation for less than the cost of a used tractor?  What if you could water that 300 acres on only 300 gallons of water a day and still have an abundance of new, fresh, green grass?  What if that pasture were able to produce year round regardless of weather conditions and without pesticides or fertilizers?  You’d be able to expand your herds, reduce pressure on your existing grazing areas, while continuing to command premium prices for grass-fed products.

We don’t have 300 acres to sell you, but a one-ton fodder system, housed in only 900 square feet of building space, gives you much of what those 300 acres would give you – for less than the cost of a used tractor.  It’s incredible when you think about it.  And recent technological advances have made it possible to grow fodder mold-free and have reduced labor inputs.  Operations which have incorporated fodder into livestock diets have been reporting for years its benefits mirror the benefits derived from livestock grazing on high quality pasture.  Recent research has also confirmed fodder:

  • Can replace grain on a 2:1 ratio, and not the 6:1 ratio suggested by dry matter tables.
  • Changes rumen dynamics, allowing greater and more rapid absorption of all nutrients.
  • Produces healthier omega 3 to omega 6 fatty acid ratios in cow’s milk.
  • Reduces feed costs and increases profits.

Our customers report:

  • Higher fertility rates.
  • Healthier livestock and lower vet bills.
  • Better meat and dairy products.
  • Lower feed costs.
  • Expansion of operations while reducing land and water use.
